I hate to give such a negative review of a volunteer organization but in this case it's the right thing to do. I went to Buffalo for the day twice recently and both times - beautiful summer morning around 9 or 11 - the boat rentals at Hoyt Lake were closed. I asked around and other people in the park all told me the same thing: "yeah the guy that runs the boat rental is a flake; he's never around". What I was hoping to be a high point of the trip was a bust.
The field is nice and the people are great and the atmosphere is awesome.
