We purchased an entire bedroom set from Calvins and after spending a fortune, we were cheated! We received a product we did not order. When it arrived (4 weeks late) the bedroom set was not even close to the color depicted in the brochure photos or online sites! After several phone conversations with Calvins employees/supervisors, they told us we were out of luck and since it's a special order they would not take it back!! So now we are out THOUSANDS of dollars and have an entire bedroom set that was not what we ordered. One of the employees said "you can't go by the pictures" SO HOW CAN YOU TRUST ANYTHING THEY SELL??? Our family has purchased from Calvins in the past and we were not treated as a loyal customer. For a company that tries to uphold its reputation, I am shocked at how poorly we were treated. They did NOTHING to right the situation. I would HIGHLY suggest ordering somewhere else next time you are about to spend a lot of money on nice furniture. That doesn't sound like a reputable company to me!
Always buy my furniture here because of the quality of it lots of American made stuff not all but alot and I find the quality is much better than other stores real wood on the better stuff . And the best place for leather furniture in Western New York
Ordered a couch as well as a chair and a half in February. Chose fabrics in the store with the assistance of the employees. Asked if it was possible to have the furniture by the time we moved in the beginning of April. Was told it shouldn't be a problem. Was called to come back in three separate times to choose different fabrics because the fabrics kept coming up as no longer available. Why they would be offering customers fabric choices that are no longer available makes very little sense to me. Now I was told that because of all the discontinued fabrics which was their fault, our furniture, ordered in February, will not be in until late April. This is a huge inconvenience but we were offered nothing in return other than useless apologies. They were very quick to place blame anywhere else they could and take no responsibility. Some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. One of the employees, who clearly got his job because he's related to the owner, actually yelled at me on the phone. Seriously a rotten business with rotten staff working there. Good furniture is expensive. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else.
We bought a leather recliner from Calvins. I drove back to the store 3 days later. The chair in my opinion could not be used for more than 30 minutes at a time without aggravating my back. We requested the refund be applied to a better chair and of course pay the difference out of pocket. The salesman was adament that once brought to the home it could not be returned. The mgr called a day later and offered to buy it back at 50% of what was paid. I reminded her that we have made purchases of dining room and bedroom sets in the past but to no avail. I would suggest to any customers that they read carefully all forms that you are asked to sign prior to pickup about orders, warranties, and returns. They do not favor the consumer. Also, sit in the furniture for one hour before purchase so my experience would not be repeated by you.
Like others I have been a victim of big box store quality furniture that falls apart in 2 years. Do yourself a favor go the the leather gallery and you will leave knowing you got the best piece of American made solid wood furniture made. Awesome customer service and their delivery guys took there shoes on and off Everytime they came in and out the door. Great experience so happy with our furniture! We will be back soon for more!!
