While he was there overnight in the hospital he had a 2nd stroke. Didn't help that MRI or CT scan was scheduled for next day, not the original day he was there (tests could have prevented 2nd stroke). First stroke was mild compared to what the 2nd stroke did to him.

My Father came in as an emergency case because of a stroke. We received conflicting information pertaining to the severity of the stroke. Nurse stated it was okay to visit my Father when we were stopped just before his room to be told that his stroke was considered a significant one, and were denied seeing him and had to wait another 30 minutes before anyone could see him. Keep in mind at this point I had yet to even see my Father, and to be 3 steps away from seeing him and then to be told the severity of his diagnosis...... needless to say quite upset. ER staff needs to keep in mind every action towards a family is CRITICAL.

After my Father left ICU(the only positive aspect of this story was the staff of the ICU) he went to the 5th floor (stroke floor). Where he was prescribed an Anti-psychotic (he has been on nothing like this IN HIS LIFE) to potentially make him more vibrant, instead it made him very erratic and unpredictable. Even when the obvious conclusion came about that this med was ineffective, he was still left on it for a few more days.

Great care! Was admitted and had surgery. Recovery and follow up went well too! They have improved from how it was many years ago, and I see them constantly getting better.

Then they prescribed me medication to help me until they can get around to surgery and sent me home. Here I am still waiting for the pharmacy to get the prescriptions while I sit in pain some more.

From the time i entered early am for surgery until discharge later that day, every staff member of nurses, doctors and transport personel, were the kindest people I've ever encountered. Very positive environment, staff were friendly and worked as a team. I have been a Registered Nurse for 20 years and i would highly recommend Mercy Hospital. Great care provided!

TO ANYONE WHO IS A PATIENT OR FAMILY OF PATIENT PLEASE REGISTER PATIENT'S INFO ON MERCY PATIENT PORTAL TO VIEW ALL PATIENT TEST RESULTS. This portal has been the most convenient part of this entire experience. By watching and tracking all of my Father's results I was able to keep up with his medical status (GOOGLE EVERYTHING) by doing this and knowing patient medical history it makes it much easier to call Nurse's and Doctor's out on their B.S.

The Doctors and nurses are great! Very caring and pleasant during my stay...the foods not bad and the room was very clean....

My overall experience is if a patient has a typical cookie cutter problem this hospital will be just as good as any. If a patient has other underlying medical issues besides the emergency they came there for....well......

Went there yesterday with abdominal pain. Found out I had gall bladder stones and the doctor said I needed surgery.

Doctor was nice, the surgeon though seemed like he was too concerned about his weekend... should have gone to Buffalo general or ecmc.

If you know nothing of Health or Medicine go somewhere else!

My Father had a FOLI Catheter prior to stroke and every nurse wasn't aware of hat fact every time it was brought up. His daily lab work indicated a high level of various waste in his blood. Meaning either infection or shutting down of a urinary organ. Having that Catheter can cause complications and infection is one and if this information was noted AT THE START my Father could have avoided a week of additional discomfort.

The surgeon came in and told me they couldn’t do the surgery because it’s the weekend. Well yesterday was Thursday and I have to go through pain because it’s the weekend?
