Rep. Chris Collins, R-Clarence – noting that the critical audit follows reports about reused insulin pens at the local VA hospital in 2012 and other issues reported there – said the troubles were so serious that Brian G. Stiller, the VA’s medical director in Buffalo, should be fired.
On July 11, 2016 my life was saved by the Buffalo VA. I am 46yo male. I was admitted via ambulance to the emergency room. I had developed compartment syndrome in both legs and had acute kidney failure. I was read my last rites and taken to surgery where there was a very good chance that if I did live I would not have legs. Long story short I have use of my legs and am not on dialysis anymore. Both of which were not expected. If it werent for the doctors working on me, not giving up on me and providing the best care. I am eternally grateful for the doctors, nurses, therapists, aides at the Buffalo VA
I've been currently served by Dr. Bhattachatyya in the Podiatry Department. I have Neuropathy and a tumor in my foot that was terribly infected. Under his dedicated service and dedication it is slowly healing. Thank you very much Dr. B.
Most notably, auditors found that wait times for new patients for first appointments at the facility went from 6.3 days in October of 2014 to 13.2 days in September of last year.
I always receive excellent care at the VA hospital. EVERYONE I see there is cordial and polite, as most people in this country hold veterans in high regard. To all of the people complaining about the FREE HEALTHCARE that they are receiving at the VA, maybe you should start MAKING APPOINTMENTS rather than just coming in to the ER and expecting every damn doctor to drop everything just to see you over a little chest pain. It's a free country & you're more than welcome to go PAY a private doctor to see you if you're not satisfied...if not all of you snowflakes & sick call rangers need to shut your mouth & stop complaining
Again and again incompetence
I always receive great care here. I get in fast and my needs are met. The staff are friendly and professional. If you are a veteran enroll today and see the difference in care from the private sector.
“Why is Brian Stiller still employed?” Collins asked Thursday. “We expect to see heads roll.”
Isn't it long past time Stiller be fired!!!!! How many times will he be allowed to run this facility in this fashion? Take note more than one article about Stiller and the VA hospital in Buffalo.
Why isn't the supervisor overseeing the quality of work of cleaning instruments?
VA medical center warning 526 patients of infection risk from scopes
Things are worse now 1 year after this appeared in the Buffalo News February 2016. Calls never returned the staff has three answers to everything 1) not my job 2) not my problem 3) I don't know.
