I am on the last leg of a two month traveling experience and have had only positive encounters with nearly everyone while on the road.
The worst and terrible service i've ever had in my life. The system is the worst and stupid. Besides, people works for Greyhound are really rude and not friendly. It was the worst worst services I have ever had. I had great memories in USA but I would not visit again ever. I used to think that i would come to the USA again but i have changed my mind. I wish i would not plan to visit here. And i hope people who are planning to visit here have to change to plan to have a great memory.
One thing is Greyhound's or other carrier's services quality which may be argueable, but as for the terminal I'd rather not complain at all. Clean, well lit with the Police / Security station in the middle, Tim Hortons (on American side, wow!) - unfortunatelly closed at night. The only surprise in the toilet (still clean) - is no toilet seats on toilet bowls. And staff at times confused about carriers' schedules diversions.
By 4:15 something seemed wrong and so I asked a bag handler and he told me the bus I was supposed to be on alert already, out of bay 5. Furthermore the bus in bay 5 was a white trailways bus. So wrong bay and not a greyhound bus.
I was informed my connection bus would be in gate 6 and upon arriving I viewed an empty greyhound bus parked in gate 6. I had 15 minutes and grabbed a snack, leaving my luggage by bay 6's greyhound.
Station is a little blase, but for the purpose that it served of a cheap travel method to Niagara, I would totally do it again. The employees assisting us with purchasing our ticket were very nice and also directed us to the seating area to wait for your bus. I couldn't ask for more. Only thing....remember to ASK for your stamp into Canada at the border if you're taking this bus there. They don't volunteer it. I forgot :\
At this point no problem, I may have made a mistake and figure I would take the next bus. I waited at the counter behind two people and noticed the customer service woman working the counter seemed slightly irritated with the customers. I thought, great here we go.
As I approached her I smiled and said how are you and politely explained my situation. She responded to me with a very harsh attitude which only escalated. She then flip flopped from charging me for missing the connection but at this point I asked to speak to her manager (which I tend never to do and I also never take time to write negative reviews). Then she just told me she would give a new ticket and threatened that her manager would defined charge me if he came over.
Two months of travel and all wonderful experiences, until this bus station.. I find it very troublesome that this sort of behavior towards polite, paying customers is acceptable.
not bad, this place has really cleaned up since i use to frequent it many years ago. They have nice Timmy Ho's located right in the middle-great location! I took the Megabus, it was extremely late due to border crossing, something to keep in mind when trying to schedule a connecting bus....
