On top of everything else, this bloke put me in a car that not only smelled terrible, was riddled with dings and dents, but the check engine light was on. I had to switch cars to a less terrible car (still with dings and dents). Worst experience of all time, no joke.
I rarely, if ever, leave negative reviews. However, it should be known that this is quite possibly the worst car rental company.
The only reason I give Ace two stars is because there was one younger guy who was really pleasant and understood what customer service means, even though he works for quite possibly the worst company of all time.
After an awful experience with Alamo car rental, at the airport, we shuttled across the street to Ace/Fox Rent A Car. The gentleman at the counter was professional, kind and promptly got us on our way. Three days later, when returning the vehicle, a different gentleman with the same great customer service.
It took nearly 45 minutes for the airport shuttle to arrive despite multiple phone calls... and the fact that they are only 1 mile away, if that. Had I known, I would have walked. Instead, I requested an Uber that I had to cancel last minute (charged me $5 for the cancellation) because their van finally arrived.
Worst customer service and did not keep your promise.
The guy at the front desk explained that I will receive my deposit back within 2-3 business days.
Just pay the extra $$$ and avoid this place like the plague!!!
Great service by Joe and Company.. Always extend finest service even on short notice. Security holds are less than average and never had a problem in a dozen or so rentals. Competitive pricing and personal service. Flexible and valuable service!!
Upon arrival to their office (located in the Quality Inn), the gentleman at the front was adamant he sent a van. At no point did he choose to acknowledge the fact that I wasn't in his office until 45+ minutes after speaking with him on the phone. (Interestingly, there was another poor soul waiting with me who validated that neither of us saw a van at any point in time.)
Prices were much higher than advertised. Charged more for a compact than enterprise's full size. At ace you don't get what you pay for.
The car was perfectly fine and gas was full when I returned the car, but I haven't received my deposit yet. It's been more than 10 business days.
