Contractors get a bad rap sometimes for things that are out of their control. We as the homeowners were required to make decisions almost on a daily basis. That was OUR responsibility. Their responsibility was to carry out those decisions for us. They did that and more. Our home is a showplace that people gasp at when they walk in. They can't believe how beautiful it is. And we owe that to Restore.
Words could never describe how we feel now, walking into and living in our new home. Every member of the Restore crew will always be a part of that feeling. Through the entire rebuilding process, Ben and his crew were amazing to work with. No construction job ever goes as smoothly as people would like it to. This one was no exception. Things get delayed, decisions have to be made, ABOUT EVERYTHING. But, the way that the crew interacted with my family, more specifically my wife and I, was so professional and caring. Everyone made us feel like they really cared about how this job turned out. If something was wrong or not exactly how we wanted it, it was never a problem to change it.

Charged me $170,000. Every coat of paint is so thin you can see the primer underneath. They told me they where done and my house didn't have doors. My bathrooms didn't have mirrors. My attic didn't have insulation. The plumber they use argued with me because he didn't want to insulate pipes and then he refused to run lines for my dishwasher and ice maker. I ended up doing about a months worth of work myself. Never hire these guys.
Every one of their employees, John, Linda, Glenn, Matt, Roy, Rich, Jim (hopefully we didn’t miss anyone ☺) were so nice to us and so good at what they do. But we have to give special praise to Jim. We now consider him to be our good friend. Every single time we had to interact with Jim, he gave us a sense of calm. I remember walking away from the house in the middle of the project after having a discussion with Jim, feeling so relieved that things were going to get done the right way. He just has this ability to make you feel comfortable and calm. I don’t know that I’ve ever met anyone like him before. Always pleasant, always, always willing to listen to our ideas and to offer his own thoughts. His ideas in the basement for example were amazing and have made that part of the house so much better than it was. Jim is a special person and will always hold a special place in our hearts for how he helped us through all of this. Their entire crew is truly special.
We hired Restore after suffering an unexpected house fire which forced us from our home for a lengthy period of time. We were in a tailspin from losing so many of our personal possessions and being displaced from our home but Restore lived up to their reputation and made our home better than new. From demolition to the final clean, Ben's crews were fantastic, professional and timely. The restoration moved on without delay and Restore was able to get the job done on time and on budget including numerous high end upgrades that we requested. Ben was a wealth of knowledge and had a long list of resources to draw from. The subcontractors used at our home were great including architect, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, insulation, drywall and tile. As an example, we called on Ben for a custom Hickory staircase, custom shower, custom laundry and two additional fireplaces. All requests were accommodated without issue and to a very high standard. Our home now is absolutely beautiful and a joy to come home to!
Their advice was invaluable on some of the more critical decisions like the bathtub and the hardwood floor. Their ideas for the bar in our basement were perfect and Jim’s craftsmanship in building it has made it the centerpiece of our basement. It’s absolutely beautiful. Exactly what we were hoping for.
On February 23rd, 2016 a fire completely destroyed the interior of our home that we had lived in for 25 years. As traumatic as the experience was for our entire family, including losing our dog in the fire, when we decided on using Restore General Contracting to "help us put our lives back together", it was one of the best decisions that we made during the almost 12 months it took to rebuild our home. The emotional impact and effect of an event like this cannot be over stated. It has changed our lives forever. On top of losing all of our possessions, and our beloved Colby, we would never be able to step into the house that had become our home and feel the same way we did before 2/23/16. It’s incredibly hard to describe that feeling.

At first they seemed very helpful, then......I had to step in and take over. The sub contractors they were going to use were so expensive I hired my own for thousands cheaper. The work that was done by restore was done lazily and not good quality for what you pay for. They broke the outside frame of a brand new window tried to cover it up and then I had to fight in my front yard with the owner to get it paid for and it wasn't even fixed or replaced. I would not reccomend them to anyone I know, jot even my worst enemy. They should have paid me in the end for being the site contractor.
